The Best Dota Heroes For Every Position Right Now

With every new tournament or patch, the meta rapidly shifts. Professionals come up with new builds and strategies, while hard-working players don’t have time to pick up on anything new. We’re telling you about the twelve best heroes right now.

The best carries

Terrorblade. After the innate rework in patch 7.40, Terrorblade illusions from Manta, Runes, and the new Tier 5 neutrals became significantly more dangerous. Additionally, Reflection became stronger at all levels, and Radik and Shiva no longer deal increased damage to illusions.

Ursa. Earthshock with a shard no longer grants a short ultimate, but instead applies three Fury Swipes stacks. This hero’s DPS has increased significantly, making it even easier to devour any enemy.

Juggernaut.  A versatile carry hero. Resistant to magic, levels up quickly with BF, and can clear out squishy targets with Swiftslash and the entire team with Omnislash.

The best mid laners

Tiny. Avalanche now works so that the enemy is guaranteed to remain stunned for the duration of the ability, regardless of strong dispels and status resistances. The hero also received increased damage to Tree Throw at early levels.

Earth Spirit. The hero’s aspects have been removed, but now, from zero, he has bonus damage from his gem charges. This results in a massive poke of almost 70 damage at level one—this is extremely important for a mid laner.

Queen of Pain.  All that was changed to the hero in the patch was a slight nerf to her Bondage aspect. However, her powerful laning, mobility, and tonnes of spell damage remain intact.

Best offlaners

Centaur Warrunner. The patch didn’t impact Centaur much, except for a nerf to the Dominator-based adventure build and a slight nerf to Aghanim’s Cart. Otherwise, he’s a classic, consistently good, tanky offlaner with a stun.

Slardar.  With a shard, the hero farms quickly and easily pushes packs, and the mark opens the door to any physical draft strategy. We quickly kill Roshan and Reaver, and quickly burst heroes with physical damage.

Axe.  Still the classic offlaner, finding kills with Blink + Berserker’s Call + BM. Notably, all of his damage is now pure, like Timber’s, making him even better against agility carries.

The best supports

Jakiro. In previous patches, the hero received a very nice buff to Liquid Frost damage, and everyone immediately remembered him. Even after the nerfs, he’s still a monster in lane with extremely powerful jabs and thousands of magic damage after the 15-minute mark.

Disruptor. Surprisingly, Disruptor received absolutely no changes in the patch—it’s as if he wasn’t a top hero for practically the entirety of 7.39! The hero is still very good in lane, strong in teamfights, and benefits from top-tier buffs from Aghanim’s and Shard.

Largo.  An extremely interesting and powerful support, whose power and effectiveness are only just beginning to be revealed. Heaps of bonus damage, healing, and useful buffs for allies that last longer than usual and double when sharded.
