In Duet Night Abyss, the character gacha was removed before release, leaving only the skin gacha. You can now get characters for free in the game, but you’ll need to farm a lot to get them. In this guide, we’ll explain how to farm characters and unlock introns.
How to get characters in Duet Night Abyss
The currency for unlocking characters is called Reminiscence. Each character requires 30 Reminiscences, and another 30 for each Intron you plan to unlock. Some characters are given 30 Reminiscences as part of the story, so you can play them right away. The number of Reminiscences is listed in the lower right corner of the character menu.

To obtain Memories, you need to farm them. Go to the Myriad spin menu and navigate to the Prism Exchange section in the bottom left. There, select the Covert Commissions tab and purchase approximately 30 Secret Letters for the character you want to unlock. These are purchased with Secret Letter currency—the game generously rewards this currency at launch, and you can also earn it through dailies, the Battle Pass, and so on.

After purchasing, exit the menu and go to Combat. From there, select Commissions – Covert Commissions – Character – any mission.

At the bottom, select a secret letter to farm. Ideally, you want to get 10 memories, but they drop rarely. The guaranteed drop of a gold one (meaning 10 memories) is 15 runs. So, on average, 10 letters equals 10 memories, but you may be lucky or unlucky.

Introns are farmed in the same way (like constellations in Genshin Impact or eidolons in Honkai Star Rail).

Play through the main story and test runs to earn memories for Rebecca, Truffles and Filbert, Berenice, Outsider, Daphne, Lisbell, and Margie. This character set will make it easier to farm memories for the other heroes.
